The George Druck Family Chronicle, 1741-2008 is truly a unique family history.
The Drucks were early York County arrivals and originally settled in the area named for them, Druck Valley, in what is now Springettsbury Township, near Rocky Ridge County Park.
Rather than simply listing generations of my ancestors and relatives, this family history links their life stories with the history of York County, as well as that of Pennsylvania and the United States. History comes alive as you read about York’s involvement in the Revolution; what happened on a Sunday morning in June 1863; why so many died from the White Plague; how the Great Depression and World War II affected York Countians, and why the Fifties were “happy days.”
Beginning the day my fifth great-grandfather set foot on the ship that brought him from the Palatinate to Philadelphia, the narrative traces my lineage up to the present time.
