About

Judy Druck Routson

Hello and Welcome to My Blog!

I hope you’ll visit often. And tell your friends and relatives to stop by, too.

Who am I?

Native Pennsylvanians, my husband Keith and I have lived in the town of Boonville in the Adirondack foothills of Upstate New York for nearly 20 years. I’ve been a contributing writer and columnist for our weekly community newspaper, The Boonville Herald, since 1993.

Even as a youngster, I loved history. My interest in genealogy began when, as a child, I discovered the names of several ancestors in a local history book. Many years ago I began researching my roots. Finally, after thousands of hours of research and typing, I finished a family history book about my father’s ancestors and descendants, The George Druck Family Chronicle, 1741-2008,which was released the end of October 2008. Even non-genealogists will find the book appealing. You can learn more about this loving endeavor elsewhere on this blog.

Although “THE BOOK” is the main reason I created this blog, I also from time to time ramble on about what’s happening in my daily life, or offer my perspective on what’s happening in the world – just like every other blogger!  So visit often and leave your comments, please.  I’d love to hear from you.

(The comment won’t show up on the blog immediately, as it comes to my email for approval first – sort of how FaceBook works, if you’re familiar with that… But don’t let that stop you…I haven’t had any nasty comments yet!)

Yes, we’re home! No, I never heard of the Druck Gospel Singers. Glad the obit helped you; it is a small world (at least here in York county!) Hope you are receiving orders for your book. I believe the clan is eager to see it. You deserve two glasses of the bubbly stuff!

Don’t even know how I stumbled onto your site, but, my memories of days/evenings/nights at the Routsons home are wonderful thoughts!

Hi Bill – thanks so much for writing! I’m glad you stumbled onto my site. It’s always good to hear from folks in York County. Keith is in Syracuse right now, but when he gets back, I’ll be sure to tell him you wrote.

My maiden name is Druck. My dad passed in 2008 and am trying desperately to gather as much information as I can possibly find on my heritage. I would love to order a copy of your book, do you take credit cards or only checks?
Looking forward to hearing from you and in digging further into “me”

    Hi Judy,
I am a small time soap maker in Oregon and am needing to update my website. (www.Laurelstonesoaps.com )

Found your picture and was wondering if you’d allow me to use it on my site. (The soapmaker over open fire). Would be happy to send you some soap and/or link to your site.

    Thank you so much,
    Laurie Fiesel
